My Hero Academia in live-action! 🔥
One of the world's most popular shonen manga series is about to reach the next level: My Hero Academia will soon be getting a live-action Hollywood adaptation , currently in development at Netflix . And according to new reports, the manga's author himself, Kohei Horikoshi , is heavily involved in the project .
Kohei Horikoshi is closely supervising the project
According to recent reports, Horikoshi has already approved some ideas proposed by the film crew, while rejecting others . This level of involvement suggests that the author is ensuring the adaptation remains faithful to the original spirit of My Hero Academia .
Such direct involvement from a manga artist is rare in Hollywood productions – and generally, that's a good sign.
A highly anticipated Netflix adaptation 👀⚡
With the international popularity of My Hero Academia, Netflix is betting big on this project. The live-action will likely adapt the beginning of the manga: Izuku's arrival, the legacy of One For All , his meeting with All Might , and his first steps at U.A. High School.
If Horikoshi continues to bring his vision, the film could avoid the pitfalls that often plague live-action adaptations of Japanese works.
Why Horikoshi's involvement is so important
When the author intervenes directly, it allows for:
- preserve the original vision of the work,
- to avoid inconsistencies or misinterpretations,
- approve the designs, characters and costumes,
- to ensure a respectful adaptation of the manga's themes.
If Netflix follows its recommendations, this live-action version could be a pleasant surprise.
An adaptation to watch very closely
No official cast or visuals have been revealed yet, but announcements could be coming soon. My Hero Academia fans, stay tuned: the project is moving forward, and all indications point to an ambitious production.
